I can't believe it's coming near
The 100th day, Monday, it's here!
And later that week, something special you see
This teacher celebrates her first year, yep its me!
I started last year, the 6th of February, oh yes!
I love this job, these kids, the stress!
They keep me going and better still
They teach ME daily, how to improve their skills
I see them growing and I'll keep growing more
We make learning fun you see, never is it a bore
This week we added one more piece of fun into our scheme
A sensory table filled with surprises, it changes with our theme
We could not avoid being outside this week, the weather was a thrill
But out of our control we had, uh oh...a FIRE DRILL!
I am proud to say we stayed in our line, all quiet awaiting word
Of when we could back to her room and finish up our work
We finished out the week, and change boards, January is gone
And making secret surprises for families, nope we are not done!
We have much to do in so little time, but do not fear it's fine!
We are quick, efficient and will be done, in time for Valentine's!
Enjoy the pics from the week!

| We have found a way to help Chase with focus and time on task! Guess who loves Nook/iPads! |
| Great job Chase, nice focus and use of those pointer fingers! ( Did a great job isolating objects moving on the screen too) |
| Abbie got 3/4 correct in 5 trials. :) She is improving recognition skills as well as time on task. |
| "I just did this...why am I doing it again!?" |
| Shredded tissue paper is amazing :) One of our favorite crafts, "stained glass". |
| I could make an album just of your antics Christopher I love this. |
| Pretty girl! |
| Abbie hard a work with a pom pom on her head. She makes me giggle. |
| Graphing our popcorn preference from our ULS unit. Matthew has really improved his writing skills. |
| Quit taking pics and come work with us lady! |
| Abbie is our official bingo dobber tester. Making sure that sponge is on good and tight ;) |
| She is super fast! |
| Chase's hand control and focus has drastically improved this year. The great thing about dabbers is they provide an action with an immediate reward of the visual. The kids love them! |
| Social skills training. Corey gets hand over hand for circling, but he does look up at the board to see what answers we already went over. Smart cookie! |
| Another ULS lesson, this time, telling time! |
| Our newest addition to the room! Our sensory table :) |
| Nice work Chris! |
| Some structured play on the rug. |
| Note to self.....ROCKS ARE LOUD! |
| Ms. Ladon working with Chase. He loves Abbie's puzzles too! |
| FIRE DRILL! |
| Starting our "some buggy loves you" project. |
| Playing with bugs and colored magnifying glasses. |
| Counting how many parts the love bug has. |
| "My bug has ___eyes ___legs_____antennae_____hearts." |
| Andre counting out his bug parts. |
| After a little guidance and further clarification, he finished on his own. |
| Get those bugs Chase. |
| Super angelic face. Somebody gets NOOK time! |
| Creating surprises.... |
| First work, then play Abbie! |
| Can almost completed this 4/5 trials with about 80% accuracy. |
| Sorting. I was very proud of her for not dumping this, since we love to dump :) |
| Corey building....I am pretty sure it is a police station. He loves "cops". |
| Chase said, 'bird" and "dog" in speech. Ms Spivey and I BOTH heard it!! For a non verbal child, we are shocked and in awe. Something is brewing in that head of yours Chase, keep it up! |
| David just wants a LITTTTLE rest before he completes his work. He did complete it though. |
| Our super cool addition to the classroom! A New iPad. NO this is not the one from the iPad challenge. This is from the district. We all got new iPads to help enhance the classroom. |
The Video of the week:
Parent Question:
"Do you have a list of free iPad/NOOK apps?"
Why yes, yes I do! Thanks to my daughters super awesome teacher, I have found several free apps. I have not checked if they are free on the NOOK yet, but I will be looking.
Sight Cards-SpellBlocks-Little Writer for Kids-Dino Math-Lola's Math-Alphabet Match-Rocket Speller-Patterns Game-ChoiceBoard Creator ( great for communication)- Play Piano Plus-
Here is a great start, once you are in the system searching for these, you will see others pop up. I found many many more!
Class Challenge of the Week
Fire Drill Procedures. Due to new safety measures in place, our fire drill procedures changed slightly. Honestly the kiddos did great! It was almost a non issue for them, I guess it was MY challenge! :)
Getting outside resources is another challenge right now. I am trying to help parents in the classroom receive outside help from agencies. I am seeking further info from the district and hope to have a list put together soon.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
